Constipation or diaree? What is worse?

Jan 17, 2014
Thanks God, during 8 months that will have Damian on Monday, I didn´t have the problem with diaree, but I know a mum who suffered a lot because of diaree on her baby. When this mum told me that her son had diaree, I was thinking that how good is that, because at that moment I was trying all things possible that my son wouldn´t be constipated. Now, looking to the past I´m gratefull that my son didn´t have this problem, as this affects theirs growing and this affects you a lot when you see that your son is putting just 500g when it is normally to put 1000g or 1500g, or worse when your child is not growing at all and this is worse.

But not having one problem, I had another, constipation. My problem was that Damian was constipated, and not just when were intorduced solid food, but also when he was eating exclusively my breast. I was trying a lot of things: glicerine (the worse thing that you can do to your baby), enema (special for babys), eupeptina powder (powder to drink with water) and giving him right food.

I know that a lot of you when is reading that I tried glicerine or enema on my baby is thinking that I´m a crazy mum, but nope, I don´t think so, just because my baby at that time was crying a lot and couldn´t have the power to do his poops. I was really disperate as it is my first baby and when you are not giving nothing more, just your breast and you cannot do anything else to help your baby. I am accepting that maybe I don´t know what to do, but there is a solution.

As all of you know babies are growing fast, mine as well :D. Pediatrician told us, that is the worse thing that I have done was glicerine, because even if he is crying he must do his poops alone without any external help and that it is normal that a breast feeding baby is not doing poops for 7 days. What??? Really??? Is there any mum that will leave her baby more than 3 days crying and trying? I´m not one of these...sorry.

My next trying was eupeptina powder, sorry I don´t know how it is in English, it is a powder that is mixed with water...YESSSSS, this helps, if only your baby will permit you to put this into his mouth, and this is very difficult. And as well you have to give Eupeptina till he is doing regularly his poops. We were giving when it was possible, and this didn´t help a lot.

So, our last trying was giving him right food like plums, apples, pears, pods. Later I will share with you some porridges with these ingredients. Now, we have more than 2 months that we don´t know what is constipation, and we are very very happy.

This was our way to find a solution for constipation. Hope you didn´t have these problems, but in case you had, please share your experience.

Love you, see you on the next post. xoxo

I LOVE Barcelona !!!

Jan 12, 2014
We moved from Chisinau (Moldova) to Barcelona for almost 3 years ago... young, freshly graduated with a lot of hopes and dreams looking for new opportunities and new adventures. From first day I felt in love in this big city and this love didn´t change during this time... more than that this feeling is growing each time I found a new place to go. I hope that Damian will love this city as much as we do and that he will be proud that he was born here.

Why I am talking now and not early about this wonderful city on my blog... you will ask... just because I didn´t have the opportunity to see this city with Damian and all the photos that we have were without him. Now, my parents were on holidays here and as it was theirs first time when they came to Barcelona I was trying to show a lot of places that tourists won´t go, or won´t have time to go.
Enjoy the photos !!!

In almost all of the images Damian was sleeping... as all kids do on fresh air :D
P.S. A lot of our dreams come true during these 3 years, one of our big wish was Damian, and now he is growing so fast that sometimes I feel like living in a dream.

Cavalcade of Magi (Cabalgata de Reyes Magos) in Barcelona

Jan 6, 2014
Yesterday we went to a traditional holiday here in Spain, Cavalcade of Magi*. Three kings (Melchior, Gaspar and Baltasar) are passing through the main streets and give candys to all children in the city. Each year something different are showing on the streets, and each year it is so beautiful that you cannot take your eye from all characters. This year it was special as we went with Damian... we wanted to show this to our son, but he was sleeping all the time the kings passed, and woke up when we had to go back home. Below you can see some pictures from this beautiful cavalcade.

*The Cavalcade of Magi is a traditional parade of kings coaches, practically in all Spanish cities and also in some cities and towns in Mexico. The Magi (of which tradition holds there were three: Melchior, Gaspar, and Baltasar) ride through the streets, as their page boys throw candies to children.

It is celebrated every January 5 (the day preceding the feast of Epiphany) in the evening. When the night comes the children must go to bed early after cleaning their shoes and the following morning they have the gifts of the Magi that they have requested before in a letter. According to this tradition, the children who have behaved badly during the last year receive coal rather than candy, though (as in the case of Santa Claus) this is not a frequent occurrence. They might get coal candy, though. (source wikipedia)
